Helbig - Amanda Nuckles

Amanda A. Nuckles was born in Salem, Washington County, Ind., April 5, 1847, was married to A. S. Helbig Aug. 13, 1867 and died of cancer at Wingate, Ind., Aug. 7, 1898. She joined the Baptist Church when sixteen years old and lived a consistent member of that church until 1872. She changed her membership to the M. E. Church and was still connected with that church at the time of her death. She leaves a husband, nine children, two brothers, sisters and two grandchildren to mourn her loss. She was a sister to Mrs. D. W. Hartman, of Crawfordsville, Frank Nuckles, of Madison, and Miss Ray, of Spencer. Her sickness was of long duration, but she murmured not. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church at Newtown, Ind., on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. W. Postill, pastor of the M. E. Church at this place. Interment was at Newtown Cemetery -s
